Sierra DeGroff shines at Across the Years, Tara Dower eyes the Long Trail and WSER, Kilian Jornet reflects on 2024’s top athletes, FKT and TROY countdowns heat up, and more
After deleting instagram for good this round up is a god send, especially the sponsorship news!! Has any news broken on where Tom Evans is going after leaving terrex or are we all still waiting for that?
Glad to hear you’re enjoying it! I started writing this so I could keep up with the sport without having to spend time on Instagram. Ironically, in order to put this together I now spend more time on Instagram lol. I havent seen any news yet regarding Tom Evans, but it’s on my radar! If you haven’t seen it, Freetrail actually has a great free agent page that’s pretty useful:
Nice one I’ll check that out!! I actually just made my first post regarding the sport and running as an introductory sort of piece! Check it out and let me know your thoughts!
Thanks so much, Nico! That really means a lot to me. I’m so glad you find the newsletter valuable—it’s comments like yours that keep me motivated to make it better every week. Appreciate your support!
Thanks, Ken, and Congratulations on Baby #3 in March! How exciting. I just came back from a visit to meet my newest niece! She's a doll—baby Alice. Happy New Year!
I really enjoyed your take-its and leave-its, and as a dad of two toddlers with a 3rd on the way, the "life stresses" take-it hit home. While I'd love to be able to get more miles in, and more strength training, I've learned to be realistic with what I can do. Right now, that means most of my runs are with the running stroller and most of my strength sessions happen in the kitchen while I'm cooking or doing dishes 😅
Stroller running will make you an absolute monster! Although it may not feel like the ideal training scenario, you’d be surprised how those little, yet consistent sessions add up. You’re crushing the dad/athlete life. 💪

Great first post! Just left a comment over there. Looking forward to more of your writing. Cheers!
My top 24' moments: 1. Jasmin Paris (that photo!) 2. Tara Dower AT FKT 3. WSER
Hard to argue with these moments! WSER last year was so fun to watch, it’s hard to believe we’re already talking about how wild this year might be.
This edition is RICH with content to stoke the trail and ultra fire for 2025. Thank you! LFG 🔥
Haha, love the energy, Mike! Thank you 🙏
As always, Ken, this is such a valuable curation of news and articles for anyone interested in trail - and ultrarunning. Thanks for doing this!

It makes it so much easier to compile my Five Things Running. :)
